| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Edward L. "Ed" Freebern of East | ||||||
| 4 | Moline, who passed away on February 1, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ed Freebern was born to Edward J. and Essie | ||||||
| 6 | Culley Freebern in Silvis on August 12, 1931; he served in the | ||||||
| 7 | U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; he married Nancy Hoexter | ||||||
| 8 | in Rock Island on April 14, 1956; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Ed Freebern worked for the Rock Island Line in | ||||||
| 10 | his earlier years; he later worked in product development at | ||||||
| 11 | John Deere, retiring in 1992 after 26 years of service; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Ed Freebern was a member of the East Moline | ||||||
| 13 | American Legion Post 227, where he proudly served in the Honor | ||||||
| 14 | Guard; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Ed Freebern had recently participated in an Honor | ||||||
| 16 | Flight; he was a fan of the Chicago Bears; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Ed Freebern was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 18 | and his sister, Margaret Lloyd; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Ed Freebern is survived by his wife; his sons, | ||||||

| 1 | Kevin (Wendy) Freebern, Keith (Kathleen) Freebern, and Craig | ||||||
| 2 | (Jacque) Freebern; his grandchildren, Kyle Freebern, Jenna | ||||||
| 3 | (Bradley) Johnson, and Kayla Freebern; and his sister, Jane | ||||||
| 4 | (Mike) Bare; therefore, be it

| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
