SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Carl E. Tanneberger, of Fox Lake, who
passed away on August 9, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Carl Tanneberger was born in Searcy, Arkansas to
Carl O. and Myron (Pleggy) Tanneberger on December 11, 1928; he
served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War
II; he married Margaret "Peggy" Gihl in July of 1950; and
WHEREAS, Carl Tanneberger worked as a machinist; he was an
expert woodworker, who crafted fine furniture and clocks; he
also built and remodeled homes; he was very generous with his
time and talents and had many friends; and
WHEREAS, Carl Tanneberger was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and
Chicago Bears fan; he loved fishing with his grandson; and
WHEREAS, Carl Tanneberger was preceded in death by his
parents; and
WHEREAS, Carl Tanneberger is survived by his wife; his
daughters, Susan (Albert) Jehlicka and Carla (George) Pugh Jr.;
his grandchildren, Thomas (Blanca) Jehlicka, Matthew Jehlicka,
Shannon (Karl) Woodham, and George (Amber Nicholson) Pugh III;

his great-grandchildren, Kylee, K.J., and Autumn; his brother,
Jerry (Trudy) Tanneberger; his sisters, Jane (the late John)
Busellato and Nancy (Leonard) Fudala; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Carl E. Tanneberger, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Carl E. Tanneberger as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
