1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Commonwealth Edison, an Exelon Company known as | ||||||
3 | ComEd, is paying a $200 million dollar criminal fine as part of | ||||||
4 | a federal investigation into a years-long bribery scheme in the | ||||||
5 | State involving jobs, contracts, and payments; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The fine is deposited in the federal treasury, and | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Congress has the ability to direct where those funds | ||||||
8 | are sent; therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the U.S. | ||||||
11 | Congress to return the $200 million dollar fine to the ComEd | ||||||
12 | ratepayers in Illinois either through direct payments to | ||||||
13 | ratepayers or by directing the funds to the Illinois Commerce | ||||||
14 | Commission for distribution to ratepayers; and be it further

15 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | delivered to the U.S. Senate Majority Leader, the U.S. Senate | ||||||
17 | Minority Leader, the U.S. Speaker of the House, the U.S. House | ||||||
18 | of Representatives Minority Leader, and all members of the | ||||||
19 | Illinois Congressional Delegation.
