2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Margaret Melius, formerly of Waukegan, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on September 7, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Margaret Melius was born in Cowdenbeath, Scotland | ||||||
6 | on December 19, 1923; her parents were James and Annie | ||||||
7 | Archibald; she immigrated to the United States in 1926 and | ||||||
8 | lived most of her life in Waukegan; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Margaret Melius was a longtime member of the Glen | ||||||
10 | Flora Country Club and an avid bowler; she moved to Lake Worth, | ||||||
11 | Florida in 1987, where she enjoyed golfing and traveling; she | ||||||
12 | returned to Illinois 10 years ago; and

13 | WHEREAS, Margaret Melius was preceded in death by her | ||||||
14 | husband, James; her parents; her brothers, John and James; and | ||||||
15 | her sister, Isabella; and

16 | WHEREAS, Margaret Melius is survived by her sons, Michael | ||||||
17 | (Rita) Melius, James (Linda) Melius, and Robert (Judith) | ||||||
18 | Melius; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Michael Matayosian) | ||||||
19 | Melius, Melissa (Matthew) Lynch, Alison Melius, and Max Melius; | ||||||
20 | and great-granddaughters, Charlotte Melius Lynch and Reese | ||||||
21 | Matayosian-Melius; therefore, be it

2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Margaret Melius, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
