1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Paul I. Poirier of Waukegan, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on October 19, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Paul Poirier was born in Waukegan and was a | ||||||
6 | lifelong resident; his parents were Dan and Viola Poirier; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Paul Poirier served his country as a | ||||||
8 | non-commissioned officer with the United States Army in Korea; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Following his discharge from the Army, Paul | ||||||
11 | Poirier joined the Waukegan Police Department, where he served | ||||||
12 | for 30 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Paul Poirier was preceded in death by a daughter, | ||||||
14 | Pamela Bogdala; his parents; and 5 siblings, Donald (the late | ||||||
15 | Coletta), Daniel (the late Florence), Jim (Rethina), Kenny (the | ||||||
16 | late Maxine), and Rita (the late Carl); and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Paul Poirier is survived by his wife of 54 years, | ||||||
18 | Patricia "Sam" (nee Finley); 3 children, Paul (Diane), Penny | ||||||
19 | (Mark), and Patrick; 5 grandchildren, Mark and Morgan Miller, | ||||||
20 | Elizabeth Bogdala, Paul Jay, and Jessica Poirier; and his many |

1 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
4 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Paul I. Poirier; and | ||||||
5 | be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Paul Poirier as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | sympathy.
