2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Anna Helmer of Mount Prospect, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 24, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was born in Zerne, Yugoslavia on March | ||||||
6 | 28, 1923 to Elizabeth Himpelmann Brichta (nee Vive) and Johann | ||||||
7 | Brichta; she emigrated from Austria in 1950 with her son and | ||||||
8 | mother; her husband, who was liberated from a European POW | ||||||
9 | camp, joined the family in 1952; the family lived in Chicago | ||||||
10 | and Park Ridge and finally settled in Mount Prospect; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was very active with the Donauschwaben | ||||||
12 | Society of Chicago in Des Plaines, where she worked in the | ||||||
13 | kitchen and served the seniors there until the age of 88; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was preceded in death by her parents; | ||||||
15 | and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was the devoted wife of the late | ||||||
17 | Fabian Helmer; the loving mother of Nicholas J. (Gail) Helmer | ||||||
18 | and Rosemarie (Larry) Garlasco; the loving grandmother of | ||||||
19 | Rebecca (Anthony) Jacob, Nicholas J. Helmer, II, and Scott | ||||||
20 | Garlasco; she is also survived by her great-grandchildren, | ||||||
21 | Kelly and Kate Helmer and Nicholas and Jillian Jacob; and by |

1 | her sister, Rosalia Jivoin; therefore, be it

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Anna Helmer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | ||||||
5 | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Anna Helmer as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
