Bill Title: Short term health insurance plans. Requires the department of insurance to adopt rules to define a short term health insurance plan as a contract with an expiration date less than 12 months after the original effective date of the contract and renewals for not more than the greater of 36 months or the maximum period permitted under federal law. Amends current provisions exempting short term health insurance from accident and sickness insurance policy requirements to provide for the greater of 36 months or the maximum number of renewals allowed by federal law, and a duration of less than 12 months.
