    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Indiana Gators 12/u Softball Team on their 2011 United States Fastpitch Association Fall World Series victory.

    Whereas, The Indiana Gators 12/u softball team won the 2011 United States Fastpitch Association (USFA )Fall World Series;

    Whereas, The team, based out of New Palestine, Indiana, traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the USFA Fall World Series after winning the 2011 USFA State Championship;

    Whereas, After a disappointing loss in their first game, the girls bounced back, winning their next six games, including the Championship game, where they outscored their opponent 4-2;

    Whereas, The only team to compete from Indiana achieved their remarkable victories over highly ranked and successful teams and organizations from across the country;

    Whereas, Although the team of twelve girls come from all corners of central Indiana, they have formed a connection with one another that makes them a force to be reckoned with; and

    Whereas, The Indiana Gators made history when they won the USFA World Series. They are the first team, of any age, to win from the state of Indiana and their accomplishment is well-deserved: Therefore,

    

Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:

    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Indiana Gators 12/u Softball Team on their 2011 USFA World Series victory.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the members of the Indiana Gators.
