SENATE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION No. _____

    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Mark Weaver on being inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.

    Whereas, Mark Weaver, a 7th grade science teacher at Clay Middle School, earned the prestigious honor of being inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame;

    Whereas, For 29 years, Weaver has taught at Clay Middle School. He is the chairman of the science department. He also serves on the Teacher Advisory Council to Dr. Tony Bennett, the Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction;

    Whereas, Teachers, students, and parents describe Weaver as the best of the best, with a gift for inspiring students to learn by bringing science to life in the classroom. When he taught students about Stonehenge, he used a fog machine and tables to turn his classroom into the historic site;

    Whereas, In June, Weaver will be officially inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in Emporia, Kansas, as only the fifth teacher from Indiana to have received the honor;

    Whereas, The National Teachers Hall of Fame was founded in 1989 to recognize elementary and secondary

school teachers, like Weaver, who demonstrate excellence in their profession. Weaver is one of only five educators in the nation who will be inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in 2011; and

    Whereas, Mark Weaver has been an exceptional educator for nearly thirty years. His induction into the National Teachers Hall of Fame is an honor well deserved, worthy of enormous praise: Therefore,
