being named a top youth volunteer for the state of Indiana.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Colton Strawser on
being named a top youth volunteer for the state of Indiana.
Whereas, Colton Strawser, a resident of Wolcottville,
Indiana and a junior at Lakeland High School, has achieved
national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by
receiving a 2012 Prudential Spirit of Community Award:
Whereas, This prestigious award, presented by Prudential
Financial in partnership with the National Association of
Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across
America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment
to serving their communities;
Whereas, Mr. Strawser earned this award by giving
generously of his time and energy to the nonprofit organization
PC's for Youth, an organization dedicated to providing free
computers to students;
Whereas, Mr. Strawser has been volunteering with the organization since 2008, and now serves as PC's for Youth's executive director. Mr. Strawser has expanded the program to
provide free computers to five counties in Northeast Indiana;
and
Whereas, The success of the state of Indiana, the strength
of our communities, and the overall vitality of American society
depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of young people
like Mr. Strawser who use their considerable talents and
resources to serve others: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors Colton Strawser on being named a top youth volunteer for the state of Indiana.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Colton Strawser.
