HOUSE BILL No. 4245

 

February 12, 2013, Introduced by Reps. Daley, Glardon, Pagel, Johnson, Ananich, Rendon, Kurtz, McBroom and Muxlow and referred to the Committee on Tax Policy.

 

     A bill to amend 1893 PA 206, entitled

 

"The general property tax act,"

 

(MCL 211.1 to 211.155) by adding section 9p.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 9p. Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory act

 

that added this section, an eligible renewable energy system is

 

exempt from the collection of taxes under this act. As used in this

 

section:

 

     (a) "Eligible renewable energy system" means a renewable

 

energy system, the majority of the energy generated by which the

 

owner of that renewable energy system uses or intends to use on the

 

premises.

 

     (b) "Renewable energy system" means that term as defined in

 

section 11 of the clean, renewable, and efficient energy act, 2008
