HOUSE BILL No. 5591

     A bill to amend 2000 PA 305, entitled

 

"Uniform electronic transactions act,"

 

(MCL 450.831 to 450.849) by adding section 5a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 5a. If restrictive covenants apply to more than [250]

 

lots or parcels of real property in a single development and the

 

law of this state allows the owners of the real property to amend,

 

reaffirm, or repeal the restrictive covenants, the owner of a lot

 

or parcel that is subject to the restrictive covenants may consent

 

to amend, reaffirm, or repeal the restrictive covenants, in whole

 

or in part, by an electronic signature.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
