HOUSE BILL No. 6093

 

 

December 1, 2016, Introduced by Reps. Brinks, Geiss, Schor, Driskell, Wittenberg, Hovey-Wright, Lane, Lauren Plawecki and Greimel and referred to the Committee on Elections.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled

 

"Michigan campaign finance act,"

 

(MCL 169.201 to 169.282) by adding section 45a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 45a. A person holding elective office who changes his or

 

her political party affiliation after the time he or she is elected

 

and before the end of his or her term of office shall reimburse,

 

with interest, each person that made a contribution to the

 

candidate committee of that elected official in the prior year.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
