SENATE BILL NO. 75

February 16, 2023, Introduced by Senator MCBROOM and referred to the Committee on Government Operations.

A bill to implement section 27 of article IV of the state constitution of 1963; and to provide the powers and duties of certain state governmental officers and entities.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1. No act shall take effect until the expiration of 90 days after the date the bill or initiative petition adopted by the legislature is filed with the secretary of state, but the legislature may give immediate effect to acts by a 2/3 vote of the members elected to and serving in each house, recording the number of yeas and nays in the journal.

Enacting section 1. This act does not take effect unless Senate Joint Resolution B of the 102nd Legislature becomes a part of the state constitution of 1963 as provided in section 1 of article XII of the state constitution of 1963.
