SENATE BILL No. 1007

 

 

December 3, 2009, Introduced by Senators PAPPAGEORGE, NOFS, GARCIA, GLEASON, VAN WOERKOM, KAHN, JELINEK, RICHARDVILLE, JANSEN, ANDERSON, BARCIA, BIRKHOLZ, CROPSEY and HARDIMAN and referred to the Committee on Families and Human Services.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled

 

"The social welfare act,"

 

(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 57v.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 57v. (1) No recipient shall use his or her Michigan

 

bridge card or other form of electronic benefit transfer or

 

assistance payment to purchase lottery tickets.

 

     (2) No lottery retailer shall accept a Michigan bridge card or

 

other form of electronic benefit transfer or assistance payment for

 

the purchase of lottery tickets.
