1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Shakopee High School wrestling team on winning the 2020 State
1.3High School Class AAA wrestling championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Shakopee wrestling team participated in the 2020 State High School Class
1.7AAA wrestling tournament; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Stillwater Ponies 34 to 21 in the final match of the tournament
1.9to win the state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Sabers finished the regular season with an outstanding record; and
1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.12congratulations are extended to the members of the Shakopee High School wrestling team for their
1.13sportsmanship and skill.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.15enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.16Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Shakopee
1.17High School.
