1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Jacob Vermillion of Shakopee, Minnesota, for earning the rank of Eagle
1.3Scout.
1.4WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank earned in the Boy Scouts of America;
1.5and
1.6WHEREAS, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in Scouts BSA is an important achievement
1.7that is worthy of recognition; and
1.8WHEREAS, Jacob Vermillion is a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 218 and
1.9has displayed the attributes of a responsible and serving member; and
1.10WHEREAS, Jacob has demonstrated mastery of all Scouting skills, completed a community
1.11service project, and fulfilled all other requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout; and
1.12WHEREAS, Jacob's Eagle Project involved building a garden book library for the community
1.13garden at Shepard of the Lake Church. To complete his project, Jacob created a plan, completed a
1.14design, verified that the project met the needs of the beneficiaries, and raised the necessary funds
1.15to the complete the project. Jacob led a team of 21 volunteers over three days to build and install
1.16the library. His project provided an outdoor resource storage area for the garden's reference resources;
1.17and
1.18WHEREAS, an Eagle Court of Honor will be held; and
1.19NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.20congratulates Jacob Vermillion of Shakopee, Minnesota, for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.22copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.23Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Jacob Vermillion.
