1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Magnus Baker of Avon, Minnesota, for earning the rank of
1.3Eagle Scout.
1.4WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank earned in the Boy Scouts of America;
1.5and
1.6WHEREAS, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in Scouts BSA is an important achievement
1.7that is worthy of recognition; and
1.8WHEREAS, Magnus Baker is a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 31 and has
1.9displayed the attributes of a responsible and serving member; and
1.10WHEREAS, Magnus has demonstrated mastery of all Scouting skills and has completed a
1.11community service project that involved gathering supplies for people at a board and care home,
1.12where approximately 80 percent of the residents are veterans, most of whom were homeless prior
1.13to moving into the home. He gathered 1,380 pounds of clothing, personal hygiene supplies, and
1.14quilts to donate to the residents; and
1.15WHEREAS, Magnus also coordinated three trips to deliver donated furniture to the care
1.16home, and he fulfilled all other requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout; and
1.17WHEREAS, an Eagle Court of Honor will be held on April 21, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Our Savior
1.18Lutheran Church in Albany; and
1.19NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.20congratulates Magnus Baker of Avon, Minnesota, for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.22copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.23Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Magnus Baker.
