AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 73-7-11, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE STATE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY TO ISSUE TO EACH LICENSE HOLDER AN IDENTIFICATION CARD THAT CONTAINS A HEAD PHOTOGRAPH, THE PERSON'S NAME, AND THE TYPE OF LICENSE HELD BY THE PERSON; TO REQUIRE THE LICENSE HOLDER TO DISPLAY THE IDENTIFICATION CARD IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE IN HIS OR HER PRINCIPAL OFFICE, PLACE OF BUSINESS OR EMPLOYMENT, AT ALL TIMES, IN ORDER TO CONDUCT BUSINESS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 73-7-11, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     73-7-11.  (1)  Each owner of a * * *certificate of registration license issued by the * * *state board * * *, pursuant to under the provisions of this chapter * * *, shall display * * *said certificate of registration the license in a conspicuous place in his or her principal office, place of business or employment, at all times.

     (2)  (a)  To each person to whom the board issues a license, the board also shall issue an identification card that contains a head photograph of the license holder, the person's name, and the type of license held by the person.  The requirements of this paragraph shall apply at the time of issuance of a new license or the time of renewal of an existing license.

          (b)  The license holder shall display the identification card issued under paragraph (a) in a conspicuous place in his or her principal office, place of business or employment, at all times, in order to conduct business.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
