AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 65-3-71.341, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO SPECIFY THE PARAMETERS OF THE SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 28 IN COPIAH COUNTY THAT IS TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE "CARROLL V. HOOD MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 65-3-71.341, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
65-3-71.341. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 28 located in Copiah County, Mississippi, beginning at the Copiah County Medical Center, near the intersection of Highway 28 and VFW Road, and running westerly for a distance of one (1) mile, more or less, is designated and shall be known as the "Carroll V. Hood Memorial Highway."
(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
