House Bill 1759

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO TEN POINT COALITION, INC., FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM WITHIN THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, may, in its discretion, contribute from any available county fund, an amount not to exceed an amount equal to the avails of point four (.4) mills during calendar years 2018, 2019 and 2020 to Ten Point Coalition, Inc., a Mississippi not—for—profit corporation.

     (2)  The funds provided to Ten Point Coalition, Inc., pursuant to this section, shall be used to provide organizations with strategic vision, programmatic structure and financial resources within Tunica County, Mississippi, including, but not limited to, improving the health of families by providing knowledge on nutrition, implementing healthy living and exercise programs to reduce obesity in the county and creating programs that will help reduce violence and crime.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
