A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. CHANDLER LLANA UPON BEING CROWNED 2012 MISSISSIPPI MISS HOSPITALITY.

     WHEREAS, in July of 2012, Ms. Chandler Llana was crowned as Mississippi's Miss Hospitality; and

     WHEREAS, a native of Batesville in Panola County, Mississippi, she won the week-long competition held in Hattiesburg after impressing the judges throughout the week through a process of interviews, speeches and on-stage competition that included the Little Black Dress/Commercial Competition and the Evening Gown Competition; and

     WHEREAS, as the 63rd Miss Hospitality, Chandler has graced numerous events throughout this state and across the country with her presence as she promotes tourism and economic development, and she will represent the State of Mississippi in the spring of 2013 for Mississippi Day in New York City; and

     WHEREAS, a biology major at the University of Mississippi working toward a career as an orthodontist, Chandler is active with Kappa Delta sorority, the Honors College and Gamma Beta Phi service society; and

     WHEREAS, none have been more proud to have her as their Miss Hospitality than her mom, Pam, and sister, Schaefer; and

     WHEREAS, there is no doubt this impressive young lady will achieve great success as a leader in this state; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by outstanding young Mississippians such as Ms. Chandler Llana:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Chandler Llana upon being chosen as Mississippi's 2012 Miss Hospitality and extend best wishes for continued success in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Chandler Llana, her parents and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
