House Resolution 147

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE FRENCH CAMP ACADEMY PANTHERS FOOTBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2012 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE CLASS 1A NORTH CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the French Camp Panthers Football Team finished the 2012 season with an outstanding record of 11 wins and 3 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Panthers did very well in the state playoffs this year, winning the Class 1A North Championship by defeating Shaw 28-8 but came up a little short in the state title game losing a close contest to Stringer 20-17; and

WHEREAS, in the North 1A Championship game the Panthers had 6 interceptions, wide receiver and defensive back Hagan Box scored 2 touchdowns, quarterback Jesse Hosket threw a touchdown pass, wide receiver Dre Carter caught a touchdown pass and running back Jaylon Clemson rushed for 55 yards; and

WHEREAS, the Panthers had a perfect record in their district finishing district play with 7 wins and 0 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Panthers have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Nathan Wright, who has broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Panthers have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to French Camp Academy; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by such exemplary accomplishments as those made by the French Camp Academy Panthers Football Team:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the French Camp Academy Panthers Football Team and their Head Coach Nathan Wright for their outstanding 2012 season, for winning the Class 1A North Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to French Camp Academy, Head Coach Nathan Wright and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
