A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. MAX JORDAN ON CELEBRATING THE MOST AUSPICIOUS OCCASION OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS BIRTH ON JANUARY 10, 2013.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Max Jordan, born on January 10, 1913, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth on Saturday, January 12, 2013, to be commemorated with a celebration in his honor, acknowledging and honoring his fatherhood and service at the First Baptist Church of Biloxi; and

     WHEREAS, an individual of wise counsel among countless individuals to bear the title as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Mr. Jordan has been blessed with many forms of wealth - health, longevity, spirituality, civility and love from his family and friends, as he has withstood the tests of time and abounded in wisdom and knowledge to become the patriarch of his family; and

     WHEREAS, as a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi, Mr. Jordan has experienced the transformational changes of American society and experienced various moments of iconic history, and as he has done in the former years of his life, he continues to rely wholeheartedly on God as the driving force to sustain and motivate him through the circumstances, trials and triumphs of life; and

     WHEREAS, with his profound faith and the unyielding support of his family, Mr. Jordan leads an exemplary life, exuding the love of Christ and imparting the values of self-assuredness, perseverance, service and benevolence obtained with his years of wisdom into the lives of all with whom he encounters; and

     WHEREAS, equipped with the innate gift of being a good samaritan, helping anyone in any manner he could, Mr. Jordan was always actively involved in the fulfillment of his Christian and civic duties; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such an outstanding individual as Mr. Jordan, who attributes his longevity to good, clean, moral living and his faith in God, as he celebrates this most auspicious occasion with his family and friends:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life of Mr. Max Jordan, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of his birth on Thursday, January 10, 2013, and express our sincere wishes for continued health, joy, peace and prosperity for years to come.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Jordan and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
