AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 49-15-64.2, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF SHRIMP THAT A PERSON MAY TAKE FOR PERSONAL CONSUMPTION FROM CERTAIN LOCATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 49-15-64.2, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     49-15-64.2.  Any person * * * shall be allowed to take shrimp in the bays located within and surrounding the cities of Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, Gautier, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula with a cast net, but shall not take more than fifty (50) pounds of shrimp per person per day for personal consumption.  The cast net shall not exceed twelve (12) feet in length.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
