AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CLAIBORNE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO LEASE A CERTAIN SURPLUS COUNTY-OWNED BUILDING TO THEATRE PLUS, A NONPROFIT ENTITY, FOR LESS THAN THE FAIR RENTAL VALUE OF THE BUILDING; TO PROVIDE FOR THE AMOUNT THAT SHALL BE CHARGED FOR THE LEASE OF THE BUILDING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Claiborne County, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to lease a county-owned building, known as the Blue Barn Theatre, which is not presently used or needed for county purposes, for less than the fair rental value of the building to Theatre Plus, a nonprofit entity that is involved in activities which foster the cultural welfare of Claiborne County. The amount that shall be charged Theatre Plus for the lease of the Blue Barn Theatre shall be not more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per month. The lease shall be for such period and upon such other terms as may be determined by the board of supervisors.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
