A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to clarify the applicability of utility right‑of‑way ordinances of the town of cornelius.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  A city may, in a utility right‑of‑way ordinance adopted under G.S. 160A‑296(a)(6), regulate utility boxes placed or buried in the right-of-way as part of cable, telephone, or other systems as to (i) location, (ii) size, (iii) number, (iv) screening and aesthetics, and (v) safety concerns such as line of sight.

SECTION 2.  This act applies to the Town of Cornelius only.

SECTION 3.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
