A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to cap the fuel tax rate at the current capped level for FIscal year 2014 and at the rate of thirty‑six and one‑half cents per gallon for fiscal year 2015.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding G.S. 105‑449.80(a), for the period July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014, the motor fuel excise tax rate may not exceed thirty‑seven and one‑half cents (37 1/2 ¢) a gallon.

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding G.S. 105‑449.80(a), for the period July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015, the motor fuel excise tax rate may not exceed thirty‑six and one‑half cents (36 1/2 ¢) a gallon.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2013.
