A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to increase the salary of experienced teachers by adding steps to the teacher salary schedule.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. The following monthly teacher salary schedule shall apply for the 2015‑2016 fiscal year to licensed personnel of the public schools who are classified as teachers. The schedule contains steps with each step corresponding to one year of teaching experience.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction the sum of twenty million forty‑nine thousand two hundred seventy‑five dollars ($20,049,275) for the 2015‑2016 fiscal year and the sum of twenty million forty‑nine thousand two hundred seventy‑five dollars ($20,049,275) for the 2016‑2017 fiscal year to implement the provisions of this act.
SECTION 3. This act becomes effective July 1, 2015.
