Short Title:        Haywood Town Square Conveyance.

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to direct conveyance by the state of the haywood town square.

Whereas, Chapter 48 of the Public Laws of 1921, recites that a tract of land in Haywood in Chatham County was formerly used and designed as a town square and recites that it is the property of the State; and

Whereas, this area of approximately five acres lies vacant almost a century later; and

Whereas, public use can be made of it; Now, therefore,

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  The Department of Administration shall sell or lease at fair market value, or sell or lease for a public purpose, the tract of land in Haywood in Chatham County that was formerly used and designed as a town square.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
