STATEMENT

This bill provides a supplemental appropriation of $2 million to the New Jersey Symphony.  The money will be used to compensate for the lingering impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the New Jersey Symphony's operations and revenues, and to help offset the costs the New Jersey Symphony incurs for the numerous educational programs it offers across the State's diverse communities.

The New Jersey Symphony is a longstanding cultural organization that employs roughly 400 employees across the State and provides myriad benefits to individuals and families in the State.  The New Jersey Symphony makes vital contributions to the State's cultural climate, and to tourism and economic development in several cities of the State.
