SYNOPSIS
Requires public institution of higher education to post information and provide counseling to students about New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

An Act concerning certain information provided by public institutions of higher education and supplementing chapter 3B of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The governing board of a public institution of higher education shall:
a. provide for public inspection on its website information on the eligibility requirements of, and the application process for, the New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (NJSNAP); and
b. expand in-person counseling services to students who are the recipients of benefits under the program or who need information concerning their eligibility for the program or the application process to receive benefits under the program.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires a public institution of higher education to provide for public inspection on its website information on the eligibility requirements of, and the application process for, the New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (NJSNAP). The bill also requires the institutions to expand in-person counseling services to students who are the recipients of NJSNAP benefits or who need information concerning their eligibility for the program or the application process to receive benefits under the program.
