KAVANAGH -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to fluoride additives in water THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 1100-a of the public health law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3 3. FOR ANY PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY TO WHICH ANY COUNTY, CITY, TOWN, 4 VILLAGE, OR PUBLIC AUTHORITY ADDS A FLUORIDE COMPOUND, THE OPTIMAL 5 FLUORIDE TARGET LEVEL SHALL BE 0.7 MILLIGRAMS PER LITER AND THE FLUORIDE 6 LEVEL SHALL NOT EXCEED 0.8 MILLIGRAMS PER LITER. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL 7 MAKE RULES AND REGULATIONS TO ENFORCE THIS SUBDIVISION. 8 S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 9 have become a law. Effective immediately, any rules, regulations, and 10 actions necessary to implement the provisions of this act on its effec- 11 tive date are authorized to be made prior to such date.
