       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring the state to
         pay down the gap elimination adjustment
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.    Subdivision  17 of section 3602 of the education law is
    2  amended by adding two new paragraphs (h) and (i) to read as follows:
    3    (H) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW TO THE CONTRARY THE GAP  ELIMINATION
    4  ADJUSTMENT  FOR  THE TWO THOUSAND SIXTEEN--TWO THOUSAND SEVENTEEN SCHOOL
    5  YEAR SHALL EQUAL SIXTY PERCENT (0.60) OF THE GAP ELIMINATION  ADJUSTMENT
    6  FOR  SUCH  DISTRICT  FOR  THE TWO THOUSAND FIFTEEN--TWO THOUSAND SIXTEEN
    7  SCHOOL YEAR.
    8    (I) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW TO THE CONTRARY THE GAP  ELIMINATION
    9  ADJUSTMENT  FOR THE TWO THOUSAND SEVENTEEN--TWO THOUSAND EIGHTEEN SCHOOL
   10  YEAR SHALL EQUAL ZERO.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015.
