DINOWITZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to facilitating enroll- ment in the child health insurance plan THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 922 to 2 read as follows: 3 S 922. INFORMATION PERTAINING TO CHIPS. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL, IN 4 CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH, DEVELOP A FORM WITH INFOR- 5 MATION REGARDING THE EXISTENCE OF THE CHILD HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN AND 6 INFORMATION REGARDING ELIGIBILITY FOR BENEFITS UNDER TITLE ONE-A OF 7 ARTICLE TWENTY-FIVE OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH LAW. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL 8 PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS TO REQUIRE ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND 9 SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE STATE TO DISSEMINATE SUCH INFORMATIONAL MATERI- 10 ALS TO THE FAMILIES OF ALL ENROLLED STUDENTS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH 11 SCHOOL YEAR. 12 S 2.
