       AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to  supplies  furnished
         by secretary and clerk
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 16 of the legislative law is amended  by  adding  a
    2  new subdivision c to read as follows:
    3    C.  IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT PURCHASED PURSUANT
    4  TO THIS SECTION  EACH  MEMBER  OF  THE  SENATE  AND  ASSEMBLY  SHALL  BE
    5  FURNISHED  WITH A DEVICE THAT PROVIDES ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO LEGISLATION.
    6  SUCH DEVICE SHALL BE MOUNTED TO EACH MEMBER'S DESK ON  THEIR  RESPECTIVE
    7  FLOOR  OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF AIDING THE LEGISLA-
    8  TORS IN THE FULFILLMENT OF THEIR LEGISLATIVE DUTIES.   THE USE  OF  SAID
    9  DEVICES BY THE MEMBERS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS
   10  PROMULGATED  BY THE TEMPORARY PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF
   11  THE ASSEMBLY.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
