FITZPATRICK, McDONOUGH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the lien law, in relation to filing of notice of lien The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 10 of the lien law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3 3. A county clerk shall not file or accept for filing a notice of 4 lien, if said lienor is a contractor, sub-contractor, laborer or materi- 5 alman or other person described in section three of this article, unless 6 a certification duly authorizing the lienor to conduct such business 7 within the county in such form authorized by the county is annexed to 8 the notice of lien. 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed- 10 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
