        AN  ACT  to  authorize  the  board  of supervisors of Tompkins county to
          contract with certain entities for the  development,  maintenance,  or
          management of affordable housing

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The board of supervisors of Tompkins county shall have  the
     2  power  to contract with non-profit organizations and other corporations,
     3  associations and agencies formed for the purposes of affordable housing,
     4  and may appropriate such sums of money as it may deem  proper,  for  the
     5  development, maintenance, or management of affordable housing; provided,
     6  however,  the  services  which are the subject of the contract are to be
     7  rendered within the county.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
