       AN  ACT  to  amend  the  administrative code of the city of New York, in
         relation to providing for retroactivity to an original date of  eligi-
         bility for the senior citizens rent increase exemption (SCRIE)
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. This act shall be known and may be  cited  as  the  "senior
    2  citizens rent increase exemption (SCRIE) rollback act".
    3    S 2. Section 26-605 of the administrative code of the city of New York
    4  is amended by adding a new subdivision (c-1) to read as follows:
    5    (C-1)  FOR  ANY  ELIGIBLE  HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD WHO FAILED TO MAKE TIMELY
    6  APPLICATION FOR A RENT INCREASE EXEMPTION ORDER PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISIONS
    7  (A) AND (B) OF THIS SECTION, SUCH APPLICATION SHALL BE  DEEMED  TO  HAVE
    8  OCCURRED  ON  THE  ORIGINAL  DATE  OF  ELIGIBILITY  FOR  A RENT INCREASE
    9  EXEMPTION ORDER AND RENT REDUCTION IS RETROACTIVE TO THE  ORIGINAL  DATE
   10  OF ELIGIBILITY.
   11    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
