       Introduced  by M. of A. LUPARDO -- read once and referred to the Commit-
         tee on Higher Education -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered
         reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation  to  authorizing  massage
         therapists  licensed  in other jurisdictions to perform massage demon-
         strations as part of a continuing education program
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Section  7805 of the education law is amended by adding a
    2  new subdivision 6 to read as follows:
    3    6. A MASSAGE THERAPIST LICENSED  IN  ANOTHER  STATE  OR  COUNTRY  FROM
    4  CONDUCTING  A  TEACHING  DEMONSTRATION OF MODALITIES AND TECHNIQUES THAT
    5  ARE WITHIN THE PRACTICE OF MASSAGE THERAPY IN CONNECTION WITH A  PROGRAM
    6  OF  CONTINUING  EDUCATION  THAT  IS  CONDUCTED  BY  APPROVED SPONSORS OF
    7  CONTINUING EDUCATION BY THE DEPARTMENT.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
