          tee on Local Governments
        AN ACT to amend the general municipal  law,  in  relation  to  requiring
          acknowledgement of school boards prior to approval of payments in lieu
          of taxes by industrial development agencies
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The general municipal  law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 859-c to read as follows:
     3    §  859-c.  Payments  in  lieu  of  taxes. Prior to the approval of any
     4  application for a PILOT agreement by an agency, the agency shall  notify
     5  the  school board and consult the district superintendent of each school
     6  district where the project that is the subject of such  PILOT  agreement
     7  would be located and obtain acknowledgement from each school board to be
     8  impacted by such PILOT agreement.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
