       IN ASSEMBLY -- Introduced by M. of A. BACALLES, O'MARA -- read once  and
         referred to the Committee on Environmental Conservation
       AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
         giving the state soil and water conservation committee  membership  to
         the New York ocean and Great Lakes ecosystem conservation council
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 1  of  section  14-0107  of  the  environmental
    2  conservation  law,  as  added  by  chapter  432  of the laws of 2006, is
    3  amended to read as follows:
    4    1. There is hereby created the New York ocean and Great Lakes  ecosys-
    5  tem  conservation  council.  The  council shall consist of the following
    6  [nine] TEN  members:  the  commissioners  of  agriculture  and  markets,
    7  economic  development,  environmental  conservation,  general  services,
    8  parks, recreation and historic  preservation,  and  transportation;  the
    9  secretary of state; the president of the energy research and development
   10  authority; THE CHAIRMAN OF THE STATE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION COMMIT-
   11  TEE;  and  the  chancellor of the state university of New York; or their
   12  respective designees.
   13    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
