       Introduced  by  Sen. PERALTA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities
       AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
         relation  to  requiring  a  sex  crime  safety  program for commercial
         passenger drivers
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended
    2  by adding a new section 19-538 to read as follows:
    3    S 19-538 SEX CRIME EDUCATION PROGRAM. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL DEVELOP A
    4  PROGRAM THAT WILL  EDUCATE  DRIVERS  OF  TAXICABS,  COACHES,  WHEELCHAIR
    5  ACCESSIBLE  VANS,  COMMUTER VANS AND FOR-HIRE VEHICLES ON THE DANGERS OF
    6  PROSTITUTION AND THE LEGAL  RAMIFICATIONS  OF  TRAFFICKING  PROSTITUTES.
    7  COMPLETION  OF  SUCH  PROGRAM BY SUCH DRIVERS SHALL BE A REQUIREMENT FOR
    8  INITIAL LICENSURE AND SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL.
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect six months after it shall have  become
   10  a law.
