        Introduced  by  Sen. LAVALLE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education -- recom-
          mitted to the Committee on Higher Education in accordance with  Senate
          Rule  6,  sec.  8  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,  ordered
          reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to certain contracts  for
          state university of New York health care facilities; and providing for
          the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Paragraph c of subdivision 16 of section 355 of the  educa-
     2  tion  law,  as  added  by chapter 363 of the laws of 1998, is amended to
     3  read as follows:
     4    c. Authorize  contracts  for  the  acquisition,  by  purchase,  lease,
     5  sublease,  transfer of jurisdiction or otherwise, of facilities suitable
     6  for the delivery of health care  services  [and  for  the  construction,
     7  repair,  maintenance, equipping, rehabilitation or improvement thereof].
     8  Such contracts shall be subject to approval by the attorney  general  as
     9  to  form  and  by  the director of the budget and the state comptroller.
    10  Contracts under this paragraph shall be funded from any moneys  lawfully
    11  available for the expenses of the health care facilities.
    12    §  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be
    13  deemed repealed June 30, 2021.
