        Introduced  by  Sens. THOMAS, SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed,
          and when printed to be committed to  the  Committee  on  Internet  and
          Technology

        AN ACT to amend the state technology law, in relation to prohibiting the
          use  or  access  of  the TikTok application on state issued electronic
          devices

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The state technology law is amended by adding a new section
     2  106-c to read as follows:
     3    §  106-c.  Use of certain applications prohibited. No state agency and
     4  no employee thereof shall download or  use  the  TikTok  application  or
     5  visit  the TikTok website on government-issued devices, including state-
     6  issued cell phones, laptops, or devices capable of internet  connectivi-
     7  ty.  No person or entity who contracts with the state of New York or any
     8  state agency, board, bureau, authority, or commission shall download  or
     9  use  the  TikTok application or visit the TikTok website on state-issued
    10  or state-leased equipment.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
