PERKINS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other juris- dictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanc- tioned by New York Road Runners, in relation to extending the provisions thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Sections 1 and 2 of chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relat- 2 ing to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to prac- 3 tice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection with 4 an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners, as amended by chapter 33 5 of the laws of 2012, are amended to read as follows: 6 Section 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, any 7 person who is licensed to practice as a physician, physician's assist- 8 ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto- 9 metrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, certified athletic trainer or podia- 10 trist in another state or territory, who is in good standing in such 11 state or territory and who has been appointed by the New York Road 12 Runners to provide professional services at an event in this state sanc- 13 tioned by the New York Road Runners, may provide such professional 14 services to athletes and team personnel registered to train at a 15 location in this state or registered to compete in an event conducted 16 under the sanction of the New York Road Runners in the state without 17 first being licensed pursuant to the provisions of title 8 of the educa- 18 tion law. Such services shall be provided only four days before through 19 one day after each of the following events: 20 a. LBD09988-02-3 S. 4325--A 2 1 July 1, 2012; 2 b. the Bronx half marathon scheduled to be held on 3 August 12, 2012; 4 c.] the Staten Island half marathon scheduled to be held on [October 5 7, 2012] OCTOBER 13, 2013; 6 [d.] B. the ING New York city marathon scheduled to be held on [Novem- 7 ber 4, 2012] NOVEMBER 3, 2013; 8 [e. the Manhattan half marathon scheduled to be held on January 21, 9 2012; 10 f.] C. the Brooklyn half marathon scheduled to be held on [May 19, 11 2012] MAY 18, 2013; [and 12 g. the New York half marathon scheduled to be held on March 18, 2012.] 13 D. THE BRONX 10 MILER SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2013; AND 14 E. THE QUEENS 10K SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON JULY 21, 2013. 15 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be 16 deemed repealed January 31, [2013] 2014. 17 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to 18 have been in full force and effect on and after January 31, 2013; 19 provided that the amendments to section 1 of chapter 192 of the laws of 20 2011, made by section one of this act, shall not affect the expiration 21 of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
