          printed to be committed to the Committee on Education

        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the application of the
          dignity for all students act

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 17 of the education law, as added by chapter 482 of
     2  the laws of 2010, is amended to read as follows:
     3    § 17. Application. Nothing in this article shall[:
     4    1.  Apply  to  private, religious or denominational educational insti-
     5  tutions; or
     6    2. Preclude] preclude or limit any right or cause of  action  provided
     7  under any local, state or federal ordinance, law or regulation including
     8  but  not  limited to any remedies or rights available under the Individ-
     9  uals With Disabilities Education Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights  Law
    10  of  1964, section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or the Americans
    11  with Disabilities Act of 1990.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
