       Introduced  by  Sen. RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in  relation  to  allowing  physician
         assistants to partner with physicians
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 6542 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
    2  new subdivision 8 to read as follows:
    3    8.  NOTHING  IN THIS ARTICLE SHALL PROHIBIT A PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT FROM
    4  ESTABLISHING A PROFESSIONAL ENTITY WITH ONE OR MORE PHYSICIANS  PURSUANT
    5  TO SECTION FIFTEEN HUNDRED ONE OF THE BUSINESS CORPORATION LAW.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
