A RESOLUTION

Honoring the Toledo Zoo on being named the Best U.S. Zoo.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Toledo Zoo on being ranked as the Best U.S. Zoo in the 2014 10Best Readers' Choice contest, sponsored by USA Today; and

       WHEREAS,  Since its establishment, the Toledo Zoo has directed itself toward meaningful involvement in the protection and conservation of the world's wild animals, and it has distinguished itself as a dynamic leader among America's zoological parks. Under the leadership of its devoted management, the zoo has become one of the community's most beloved institutions, a place that offers both education and entertainment, and clearly, it deserves the public's continued support; and 

       WHEREAS,  Due to the tremendous efforts and initiative its staff has displayed, the Toledo Zoo has grown significantly over the years, and this noteworthy organization is certainly deserving of high praise. It is not surprising that the zoo has attained statewide and national acclaim, for it has far surpassed the expectations of both patrons and the community; and

       WHEREAS,  The Toledo Zoo has enhanced the quality of life in the surrounding area. All those associated with this fine facility have applied vision and expertise to the task of protecting and preserving our planet's zoological diversity while providing the public with recreational opportunities, and we are proud to note that it is through the diligent efforts of conscientious individuals such as these that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Toledo Zoo on its recent accolade and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Toledo Zoo.
