AN ACT

Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, in falsification and intimidation,

3

further providing for the offense of false reports to law

4

enforcement authorities.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Section 4906(c) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania

8

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:

9

§ 4906.  False reports to law enforcement authorities.

(c)  Grading.--

(3)  Where the information provided relates to an offense

14

graded as a felony, a person commits a felony of the third

15

degree if he:

16

(i)  knowingly gives false information to law

17

enforcement authorities with intent to implicate another;

18

(ii)  reports to law enforcement authorities an

offense within their concern knowing that it did not

2

occur; or

3

(iii)  pretends to furnish such authorities with

4

information relating to an offense when he knows he has

5

no information relating to such offense.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
